2023-07-09: Oh how time gets away from me.  I've been working on cleaning up my garage workshop to be able to function and make things more efficiently, as well as getting a few new tool to assist (finally got a planer and joiner, so that's nice).  I've also been taking an interest in electronic repair, I know, quite the different direction from woodworking, also kind of an expensive hobby just like woodworking.  So I'm also in the process of trying to organize my office to make that more functional so I can work on electronics projects ... which has the benefits of not being weather dependent, unlike woodworking where I can work and have some heat in the garage, but it's still kinda chilly at times.

Not too much new to report, not really sure if anyone has even seen the page at all, and I admit there is not a whole lot to see.  The facebook and youtube pages are also quite bare, so I don't blame people for not sticking around.  At this point things are still in the development stage, but I have made good progress on both work areas and I'm hoping to be able to turn that into videos and projects soon ... we shall see what if anything becomes of that.  I need another 24 hours in each day to get everything done, it's the problem of a cluttered mind with too many directions I want to go in at the moment.

2023-04-18: Quick update as things are taking a bit longer to get going than I thought they would.  I also had a combination medical injury as well as the passing of my dog, so motivation and ability to do anything kinda stumbled a little bit.  I'm still trying to figure out a direction of if I want to film stuff, what I want to make, as well as how to market and sell things (I am not a big user of Facebook normally, and while I have listed on Craigslist it is not the site it once was).  I did make a few sets of cornhole boards but another thing I am seeing is that there are more woodworkers in my immediate area than I thought, and it seems a lot of the projects I'd consider making are also already being made by numerous other people, and I can't just make things that then sit around taking up space, so that has also been a thing holding things back a little.

I'm also slowly working on learning new things: this originally started as a woodworking idea but due to certain naming things as well as the fact that I kind of tinker with other things as well, that is the explaination for being "Craftworks" and not just "Woodworks" or something similar.  I'm always trying to learn new things and skills (I need to learn to better use my laser and cnc machine, and I'm also taking an interest in electronics repair but that's still very basic).  There is a lot to do, so much it seems that it is a bit overwhelming.  But hopefully we can get there and I can start posting videos on the Youtube channel and find a way to link to items for sale [bigger items would be pickup near Akron Ohio, but maybe I'll figure out some small projects and maybe do some shipping; I've got a lot of things to do to get there).

Thanks for stopping by, until next time!

2023-03-05: Projects are underway!!!  So exciting ... unfortunately there is still a lot of progress to be made in terms of decluttering the garage to allow for functional shop operations, but when the weather is nice I am able to pull my tablesaw outside to cut boards and I've cleared off my mobile workstation enough to start doing some projects on it.  Currently finishing some cornhole boards, as well as working on gluing together panels for a coffee table build I am working on [I'm limited by my tiny amount of clamps].  Hoping to have the table constructed this week, as well as at least 2 sets of cornhole boards assembled and prepped to either sell unfinished, or to be customized for sale.  I have not taken as many pictures of the processes as I should, but with limited time and the current state of my garage, I think it is more prudent to get a couple things built for display and then focus on build pics and videos as time allows.  Stay tuned!

2023-02-12: I've begun compiling a list of possible projects to film, things to make, things that need to be purchased or done for the site to gain content.  This will be a work in progress, and being a part time endeavor at this time I have no set time frame.

I know at some point I need to create a logo for the site, and I know that I need to figure out how to advertise products that are of any substantial size [seriously, how am I supposed to mail cornhole boards without it costing a few hundred dollars due to the dimensions].  Eventually I would like to have a shop page set up but without being able to ship certain products, it is still in the infancy stage ... if you have had to ship cornhole boards in particular and would consider sharing how you do it without breaking the bank, please send me a message on the contact page.

I like to tinker, so while many of the things I make revolve around wood, I also do some things involving electronics, metals, plastics, recycled goods ... I am by no means the craftiest person, but I enjoy learning new things, and it is taking me this direction as a means of a hobby.  I hope you'll join in the journey, with the weather starting to get a little better here, once I have a chance to clear out my cluttered garage a little more and can start making things and documenting the journey, more content should be made available on the site, as well as Youtube, possibly tiktok and a facebook page as well to handle possible sales.  Any help, tips, comments, etc are encouraged, and please check back frequently for updates!

2023-02-07:  Welcome to WT Craftworks, a place to showcase various crafts made from wood, metal, reclaimed and recycled materials, and other hand made goodies.  Still a fledgling endeavor, the hope is to create a community and create things others find interesting or helpful.

Keep watching the page as it develops with items for sale, tips and tricks, build videos [which will be posted to the youtube channel as time and interest allow], and possible real world meetups and shows [which will be posted here and on the facebook group].

Thank you for dropping by!
